Herdando Nações

Herdando Nações formed in 1986 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, during a period when Christian rock was gaining ground in the country. The band was led by vocalist Ney Pirro, and their early years involved financial difficulties and limited recognition. They kept playing shows locally and touring, gradually building an audience.

Their music mixed heavy rock with biblical themes, which didn't sit well with some traditional churchgoers in Brazil at the time. This created friction, with critics calling their sound too secular or disruptive. Yet songs like 'A Ti Eu Canto' and 'Em Tuas Águas' found listeners who connected with their direct approach to worship.

Their self-titled debut album came out in 1989, followed by others including 'O Sonho Não Acabou' in 1992 and 'Plenitude' in 2010. The lineup stayed fairly steady over time, with Pirro remaining the central voice. Their catalog includes tracks such as 'Eu Vou Anunciar' and 'Nosso Rei É O Senhor', straightforward declarations of faith set to rock arrangements.
