Heresia

Heresia formed in São Paulo, Brazil, in the mid-1990s. Their debut album 'Caindo do Altar' came out in 2001, which helped them find an audience in the national metal scene. The band's lineup has included vocalist and guitarist Marco Antônio Lopes, bassist Davi Borges, guitarist Thiago Bianchi, and drummer Fábio Neves.

Their music tends toward aggressive riffs and lyrics that question social and religious norms. This approach has sometimes drawn criticism, but they've kept at it across seven studio albums. Songs like 'Caindo do Altar' and 'Contramão' are among their better-known tracks.

Heresia has worked with musicians from other Brazilian metal bands like Sepultura and Angra. They've built a following as a cult favorite in the genre, playing shows and releasing music for years without becoming a mainstream name.
