Heresiarh

Heresiarh formed in the UK in the early 1990s with Reverend Sin on vocals, Lord Necro on guitar, Malevolus on bass, and Tyrant on drums. Their debut album 'Demoniac' came out in 1995, followed by records like 'The Heretic's Songbook' in 1997 and 'Avatar' in 2000. They kept releasing material through the 2000s, including the 2006 album 'Dragon Domain' that shares its name with one of their most recognized songs.

Their sound was raw and aggressive, with Sin's lyrics often taking aim at organized religion and social norms. This approach drew some criticism but also built them a dedicated following. Tracks like 'Horns Of War' and 'Wolfghosts (in Winter)' show their blend of heavy riffing and melodic elements.

By 2009 they had put out six studio albums, ending that run with 'Invicta.' Their music, particularly the epic scope of 'Dragon Domain' and the grim atmosphere of 'Lamenting Shield-Maid,' found an audience in extreme metal circles. The band's lineup remained consistent throughout their active years.
