The group put out albums like 'Het Beste van Herman Bonthuis' in 1978 and 'Toen was geluk heel gewoon' in 1980.
In 1976, Bonthuis wrote 'Moeke,' a song about his mother. It caught on in a way that their earlier work hadn't, becoming a kind of national standard in the Netherlands. The track's plain-spoken sentiment and simple melody seemed to connect with people across different ages.
After the 1980s, the band's activity slowed down. Bonthuis kept playing here and there, and a compilation called 'De allerbeste van Herman Bonthuis' came out in 1996. A later release simply titled 'Moeke' arrived in 2015.
