He was born in Almelo in 1949 and drew inspiration from Dutch humorist Toon Hermans and Italian singer-songwriter Paolo Conte. His style mixes humor with a certain melancholy, heard in songs like 'De Buren' and 'Niemand Kan Zo Teder Zijn'.
In 1985, Finkers released 'De Buren,' a satirical song about neighborhood life that became his mainstream breakthrough. Despite that, it remained popular and helped establish his reputation.
Finkers continued to release music and perform, with other notable songs including 'Aan De Waterkant' and 'Aladdin.' His work spans comedy, music, and literature, maintaining a devoted following in the Netherlands.
