Hermanos Berbel

Hermanos Berbel were a Spanish folk group formed by brothers Miguel and Manuel Berbel in the early 1970s. They worked within traditional flamenco styles during a period when that music faced political suppression, performing in smaller venues before gaining recognition. Their song "Amutuy Soledad" became particularly well-known, capturing a mood of solitude that resonated with listeners.

Their debut album "Por Soleares" came out in 1978, followed by several others including "Amutuy Soledad" in 1981 and "Vientos del Sur" in 1988. Miguel handled vocals and guitar while Manuel sang and played percussion. They sometimes collaborated with other flamenco artists like Paco de Lucía and Camarón de la Isla, which brought some contemporary touches to their traditional approach.

Their lyrics occasionally addressed social themes, and they maintained a certain distance from commercial pressures. Other songs in their catalog include "Desde La Patagonia," "Neuquen Trabun Mapu," "Piñonero," and "Polca Del Rosedal."
