Hermetica formed in 1987, led by Ricardo Iorio, who had previously been part of the heavy metal band V8. They put out their first album, 'Amnesia,' independently in 1990, which found an audience in the underground metal scene. Their sound pulled from heavy metal and punk, with songs like 'Craneo Candente' and 'Desde El Oeste' showing that rough-edged style.

Things shifted with their second album, 'Ácido Argentino,' in 1991. The band stuck to their guns, though, and kept playing.

Hermetica recorded six studio albums in total. They never really smoothed out their sound or their message, which kept them rooted in that early-'90s Argentine rock moment. Songs like 'Atravesando Todo Límite' and 'Gil Trabajador' are still part of that catalog, straightforward and unpolished.
