Herocoice formed in São Paulo in the late 1980s with Nasi on vocals, Gabriel Thomaz and Renato Rocha on guitars, Rodrigo Santos on bass, and Edgar Scandurra on drums. Their self-titled debut came out in 1985, mixing hard rock with experimental collage work and political lyrics that caught attention in Brazil's rock scene.
The ban didn't stop it from becoming a resistance anthem. Other tracks like "Arca Belga de Limões" and "Marginal do Ipiranga" show their range across that period.
Later albums like "Quebrado" (1993) and "Quatro Estações" (1997) found them working with electronic textures, ambient sounds, and Brazilian rhythms, moving away from straightforward rock without losing their edge.
