Heroi Oculto formed in Rio de Janeiro in the early 1980s as a quartet with Marcelo Yuka on vocals, Eduardo Barreto on guitar, Marcos Suzano on bass, and Fred Castro on drums. They released their debut album in 1985 and put out several more records through the 1990s, including 'Inconsciente Coletivo' in 1989 and 'Vida Real' in 1991.
Their song 'Eu Sou Seu' became particularly notable for its lyrics addressing homosexuality, which sparked debate in Brazil at the time. Another track, 'Medos e Desejos,' appears among their most remembered work. The band's music often touched on social and political themes.
Heroi Oculto disbanded in the late 1990s. Marcelo Yuka died in 2019.
