Heróis da Fé formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1993 with João Alexandre on vocals and guitar, Alessandro Campos on bass, Valcir Júnior on drums, and Eliézer Rosa on keyboard. They were a Brazilian Christian rock band from the start, taking their name from the Portuguese phrase for 'Heroes of Faith.'
Their 2000 album 'A Procura da Felicidade' became their most recognized work, giving them a wider audience in Brazil. The title track and songs like 'Atribulou' showed their mix of rock energy with worship-oriented lyrics about faith and searching for purpose.
They released several other albums including 'Deixa o Teu Rio Me Levar,' 'Um Novo Tempo,' and 'Para Sempre.' Early on they had trouble finding a record label that would take on their sound, and some religious circles questioned Christian rock as a form. They kept playing anyway.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
