Herois de Gelo formed in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1980s as a trio with Dado Villa-Lobos on guitar, Pedro Pastor on bass, and Ludi Costa on drums. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1987. The band's 1992 album 'Gelo' included the title track, which became a hit.
After breaking up in 1998, the members reunited in 2005 and put out another album called 'Sobrevivente' in 2007.
