Archive material and source history
Heropleno formed in São Paulo in 1999 with vocalist Rodrigo Damati, guitarist Marcelo Loureiro, bassist Renato Toledo, and drummer Alexandre Cavalcanti. They worked through early rejections and financial struggles, playing wherever they could while developing a sound that drew from rock, pop, samba, and bossa nova.
Their 2005 album featuring "Diga Que Vai Voltar" became a breakthrough. Other tracks like "Canção Do Adeus" and "Respeito E Paz" also became staples in their catalog.
After that album, they released several more, including "Propaganda" in 2008, a live recording in 2013, and "Aurora" in 2018. The band's lineup remained consistent through these years, and they continued to write and record new material.
