Hi-Rez formed in 2002 with Vinny Demarco on vocals, Jake Pitts on guitar, Jon Tucker on bass, and Ken Schalk on drums. They came together in the Pittsburgh suburbs, making pop-punk that leaned into the energy of bands like Blink-182 and Green Day. Their first album came out in 2003, followed by 'Endless Summer' in 2005.
They put out four studio albums in total, including 'Moments' in 2009 and 'The Dark Side' in 2014. The song 'Welcome To My Life' became their most recognizable track. Pitts left the band in 2009 to join All American Rejects.
After announcing a hiatus in 2017, Hi-Rez got back together in 2021 and went on tour. Their other songs include 'White Tiger' and 'It Was Never Easy'.
