High Highs formed in Portland, Oregon around 2010 with Shirisha Bandlamudi, Shawn Rosenblatt, and Marc Nelson. Their early sound had a quiet, atmospheric quality that came through on songs like 'Open Season' and 'Flowers Bloom.' They released a self-titled EP first, then put out their debut album 'Open Season' in 2013.
Rosenblatt left the band in 2015. Bandlamudi and Nelson continued as a duo and released a second album called 'Cascades' in 2017. Their music stayed in that same reflective, melodic space, with tracks like 'Bridge' and 'In a Dream' showing their preference for gentle arrangements over loud production.
