Highland formed in 2010 with Calum MacLean on vocals and guitar, Euan MacDougall on bass, and Alasdair Stewart on drums. They released their debut album 'Aflame' in 2012, followed by 'Ashes to Embers' in 2014. Their music includes songs like 'Bella Stella' and 'Piano Piano' from their catalog.

In 2016, the band faced plagiarism accusations over their single 'Bitter Love,' though these were later dismissed. They've worked with vocalist Rachel Lorin, who appears on their track 'How to Love.' Their third album, simply titled 'Highland,' came out in 2018.
