História formed in 1998 around guitarist Fernando Scarpa, drummer Marcelo Pellenz, and bassist João Veiga. They worked in Brazilian progressive rock, a scene that was still finding its footing at the time. Their debut album 'Liderança' came out in 1999, followed by others like 'Sombra de Gaia' in 2003 and 'Retrógrado' in 2010.
Their 2006 album 'Inverso da Alma' gave them a title track that became a signature piece. The song 'Inverso da Alma' is built on intricate guitar work and deals with themes of introspection. Other tracks in their catalog include 'Liberte-me', 'Verdades', and 'Recomeçar', which featured a guest vocal from Rik Fioque of the band Sonni.
