Hocus Pocus formed in Amsterdam in 1997 with Dennis van Leeuwen on vocals, Dirk van der Plas on guitar, Jasper Dijkstra on bass, Stefan Hoogerheijde on drums, and Cees Engels on keyboards. They released their debut album 'The Magic Hour' in 2000, which included the single 'One Way Or Another' that became an international hit.
After van Leeuwen left in 2004, Sebastian Doornbos joined as vocalist. The band released three more albums: 'Who Cares' in 2002, 'Lights Out' in 2004, and 'Dragonflies' in 2007. Their catalog includes songs like 'The Witches Are Back', 'Smile', and '73 Touches'.
While later albums didn't match the commercial success of their early work, Hocus Pocus maintained a presence in the early 2000s pop landscape with their blend of pop, rock, and dance elements.
