Holidays On Ice formed in Los Angeles around 2008, starting with Spencer Koster and Casey Tillman. They later added Kevin Sutherland on bass and Matt Koch on drums. The band built a following playing local venues before their 2012 single "Here Comes Your Ride" got them wider attention. That song led to their debut album, The Ballad of the Broken Hearts Club, in 2013.
Their second album, The Shadows We Cast, came out in 2016. In 2017, Tillman left to work on solo material. Two years later, the band cut ties with Sutherland after misconduct allegations surfaced. They released a statement against harassment and donated some proceeds to survivor support groups.
Holidays On Ice put out Ghosts of the Past in 2019 and Reflections in 2022. The group's lineup has shifted, but Koster and Koch have kept it going.
