A Spanish band that turned a catchy 1985 single into a long-running soundtrack.
For their sound, start with 'Devuélveme a Mi Chica'. 'Te Quiero' is another good one to hear what kept them around.
They broke through with 'Devuélveme a Mi Chica', a song that defined a certain kind of Spanish pop-rock in the mid-80s. That track and later ones like 'Marta Tiene Un Marcapasos' gave them a durable presence, even through lineup changes and the occasional controversy. They kept writing songs people remembered, like 'No Llorare' from their top tracks.
They formed in Madrid in 1982 and struggled to get a deal at first. After 'Devuélveme a Mi Chica' hit in 1985, they released albums through the late 80s and early 90s, with guitarist Manolo Summers leaving in 1996. The band continued on after that.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
