Honeyhoney formed in Portland, Oregon in 2006 as a duo with Suzanne Santo and Benjamin LaMar Gay. Their sound pulls from folk-rock and blues, with touches of Americana and jazz that give their music a lived-in feel. They put out their first album, First Rodeo, in 2008, followed by Billy Goat in 2011.
Songs like 'I Don't Mind' and 'Bouncing Ball' show their knack for writing that feels both intimate and sturdy. Their 2016 album, also called I Don't Mind, leaned into that directness. By 2019's Yes and No, they were working with more electronic textures and R&B, a shift from their earlier records.
