Hopi Hari formed in São Paulo in the early 2000s. The group included Adriana Mezzadri and Tiê Castro on vocals, with Beto Villares on guitar, Renato Gonçalves on bass, and Marcos Suzano on drums. Their first album was simply called 'Hopi Hari.' They later put out records like 'Flores do Cerrado' and 'Sambassim.'
Their song 'Hino Di Hopi Hari' became something of a standard at festivals and celebrations in Brazil. It's one of those tracks people know, along with 'Kastel Di Lendas' and 'O Mágico da Vida.'
In 2010, Adriana Mezzadri was treated for breast cancer and recovered. A few years later, there was some talk about one of their songs sounding similar to a traditional folk melody, but that got sorted out. The band kept playing shows and putting out music after that.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
