The band's lineup included Johnny Guitar on vocals and guitar, Billy Bass on bass and vocals, Tommy Drums on drums, and Dixie Doodle on fiddle and vocals. Their sound mixed country elements with rock energy, which put them at odds with some traditional country listeners at the time.
They faced various professional difficulties, including disputes with their record label. Their biggest hit, 'Cowboy Song', also attracted some criticism for its lyrical content. The band stopped releasing new music after 1979.
