Hot Rockin' Jazz formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1997 with vocalist Giovanna Cardoso, guitarist Pedro Oliveira, bassist Bruno Silva, and drummer João Santos. They released their debut album 'Ritmo Caliente' in 2001, which brought them attention in Brazil.
Their 2005 album 'Nuestro Verano' included the title track that became one of their most recognizable songs, along with 'Vamos a Rockabilear.' The album helped them reach audiences in Europe and the Americas through touring.
In 2009, the band faced a legal dispute over song copyright that created some uncertainty, but they continued working afterward.
