Háppá formed in Teresina, Brazil in 2016 with Alexandre "Alê" Guedes on vocals and guitar, Vinicius "Vinny" Telles on bass, and Fábio "Fabinn" Almeida on drums. Their name comes from the Portuguese word for "hippie," which fits their mix of pop, rock, and MPB influences.
Their 2019 debut album "Visão de Mundo" included the single "Dinheiro," a song about money's corrosive effects that became a national hit in Brazil. The track's catchy melody and direct lyrics connected with listeners, putting the band on the map.
Háppá's songs often touch on social issues and everyday life in Brazil, with tracks like "Sou o Gueto" and "Walking In Babylon" continuing in that vein. They've released two more albums since their debut: "Nação Cyborg" in 2021 and "Manifesto" in 2023.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
