Hubbas formed in Los Angeles in the early 1980s with Terry Britten on guitar and vocals, Rafael Padilla on bass and vocals, Russell Smith on drums, and John David Souther on guitar and vocals. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1982 and included the song 'Always On My Mind,' which became a hit.
Padilla and Smith left the band in 1985 and were replaced by Larry Byrom on bass and David Kemper on drums. Hubbas released two more albums, 'Hubbas II' in 1983 and 'Hubbas III' in 1986, before disbanding in 1988.
