His first solo album came out in 1991, called 'Hooverdam.' Since then he's put out more records that sometimes lean toward rock or blues. Songs like 'My Kind Of Loving' and 'Ain't It Strange' show up in his solo catalog.
He was born in Hounslow, Middlesex in 1959. Before The Stranglers, he had a band called The Hormones in 1974.
