Humonoide

Humonoide was a Brazilian band that formed in the 1980s, with Edgard Scandurra on vocals and guitar, Chico Neves on bass, and Pedro Neves on drums. Their debut album came out in 1985 and included the song 'Amor Proibido,' which featured guest vocals from Bebel Gilberto. That track became their most recognizable piece, though they also recorded others like 'Palavras Sinceras' and 'Verdades.'

They released a few more albums through the late 80s and early 90s, including 'Pura Emoção' in 1986 and 'A Tempestade' in 1992. Their lyrics sometimes touched on themes that drew criticism at the time, but they kept making music without much compromise to their approach. The band's sound had a rock foundation with some Brazilian rhythmic touches, which fit into what was sometimes called BRock.

Humonoide didn't maintain a constant public presence over the decades, but 'Amor Proibido' stayed in circulation as a kind of cult favorite. Their other songs, like 'Milonga Personalizada' and 'Relatos,' have a similar moody, melodic quality that appeals to listeners who discovered them later. The group's recordings from that period still surface in reissues or playlists focused on 80s Brazilian alternative music.
