HumShakal was an Indian pop-rock band that formed in 2003, led by vocalist and songwriter Shibani Kashyap. The group included guitarists Keith Peters and Girish Pradhan, bassist Chris Powell, and drummer Jayant Bhadula. Their debut album 'Piya Ke Bazaar Mein' came out in 2005, with the title track becoming their most recognizable song.
They went on to release several more albums over the next few years, including 'Sampooran' in 2007, 'Dil Chahta Hai' in 2008, and 'Kuch Toh Log Kahenge' in 2011.
The band has been on an extended hiatus in recent years, but their music from that mid-2000s period still gets played and remembered by fans who were around when they were active.
