Hundred Waters formed in Gainesville, Florida in 2011 around vocalist Nicole Miglis, guitarist Paul Kwon, bassist Trayer Tryon, and drummer Zach Tetreault. Their music tends toward experimental electronica with ambient textures and Miglis's ethereal vocals, though it resists easy categorization.
In 2014, the single "Show Me Love" became their breakthrough track, its haunting melody and layered harmonies finding a wider audience. Other songs like "Blanket Me" and "Firelight" from around that period show their approach to building intricate synth arrangements around Miglis's voice.
After Tryon left the band in 2016, the remaining trio continued releasing albums including Casting Shadows in 2017 and Aurora in 2020. Their work maintains that atmospheric, electronically textured quality without settling into predictable patterns.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
