Hundred Year Storm

Hundred Year Storm formed in London with Jake Daniels on vocals and guitar, Oliver Furey on bass, and Sam Burrows on drums. They started playing in small venues, working on a sound that leaned into straightforward rock with some emotional weight. Their first single was "00:01 (Start)", and their debut album was called The Tempest.

Some of their songs like "All This Time" and "August On Fire" got attention for lyrics that touched on personal struggles and social issues. This drew both fans who connected with that directness and some criticism from people who found it too heavy. The band kept writing and playing through that, letting the music speak for itself rather than getting caught up in debates.

They never really chased a polished studio sound, preferring to keep things raw in recordings and live shows. You can hear that approach in tracks like "By My Side" and "Consider This", where the guitar work stays gritty and the vocals don't get smoothed over. It gave their music an immediate, unvarnished feel that worked for what they were doing.
