Hyouka formed in Tokyo in 2011, with Satoru Suzumura, Minami Kuribayashi, and Yuriko Ichinose starting as childhood friends who shared a love for music. They took their name from the Japanese word for 'celestial harmony' and spent their early years playing small venues around the country. In 2013, they signed with the record label Avex Trax.
Their debut album 'Aoi Sora to Kimi no Koe' came out in 2014 and included the song 'Yasashisa no Riyuu,' which became their most recognizable track. They followed it with albums like 'Hikari no Naka e' in 2015 and 'Ano Hi no Kimi to' in 2017. Other songs in their catalog include 'Kimi Ni Matsuwaru Mystery' and 'Aozora No Kodou.'
