Archive material and source history
Hyper Tensão formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1984, with Nando Tenente on vocals and guitar. Their self-titled debut came out the following year, and they built a reputation for energetic shows that mixed heavy metal with a party-rock feel.
Their second album, "Perfeição Não Existe," arrived in 1986 and included the track "Segura a Bronca," which became something of an anthem for the band. Around this time, some of their lyrics addressing social issues drew attention and occasional censorship.
Tenente left in 1989 to work on solo material. The band continued with different lineups, putting out records like "Tá na Hora" in 1991 and "Dupla Personalidade" in 1998. Another song people remember is "Gostar do Jeito Que Eu Sou."
