I Against I formed in the early 2000s with Danny Aguilera on vocals, Drew Stewart on guitar, Chad Ackerman on bass, and Chris Stewart on drums. Their debut album "The Great Divide" came out in 2005, followed by records like "The Concrete Confession" in 2008 and "This Revolution Needs No Heroes" in 2011. They kept the same lineup through their run, which ended in 2019.
Their songs had titles like "Challenge," "Reasons," and "Chaos Days," and they worked with punk bands like Anti-Flag and Pennywise. The music drew from hardcore, punk, and hip-hop, and they developed a reputation for aggressive live shows and lyrics that addressed social issues.
Some critics accused them of glorifying violence, and there was an incident where Aguilera was said to have instigated a riot at a festival. They put out two more albums, "Scars & Stripes" in 2014 and "The Iron Curtain" in 2017, before calling it quits.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
