I AM ex3.14 formed in Curitiba, Brazil in the early 2000s around Brother John, whose real name was Jonathan Soares. He had been a pastor before starting the band. Their music mixed rock, metal, and electronic dance music, and they toured churches, festivals, and underground venues.
Their song "Abba Único Rei" became something of an anthem for some listeners. Brother John's views on religion and social justice sometimes caused friction within Christian circles, with some critics calling the band's work heretical. The group kept performing regardless.
They released albums including Ex3.14 in 2007, Genesis in 2009, and Revelation in 2011. Later records included Eleventh Hour in 2014 and The Great End in 2017. A live album from Jerusalem came out in 2020.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
