I Am Kloot formed in Manchester in 1999 with John Bramwell, Andy Hargreaves, and Peter Jobson. Their debut album 'Natural History' came out in 2001, and they've kept at it with records like 'Gods and Monsters' in 2005 and 'Let It All In' in 2021. Jobson left around 2010, leaving Bramwell and Hargreaves to carry on as a duo.
Their songs tend to lean toward the introspective side, with Bramwell's lyrics and a certain melancholic pull. You can hear it in tracks like 'Avenue Of Hope' and 'Sand And Glue', quiet, steady, and a bit weathered. They've built a following in British indie rock without much fuss about commercial ambition.
They still tour, and their live shows have a reputation for being understated but direct. The music doesn't try to be anthemic; it's more the kind that settles in over repeated listens.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
