I Decline formed in Stuttgart, Germany in 2003 around vocalist Andreas Dörner and guitarist Tibor Nemeth. They were joined by bassist Peter Lohr and drummer Patrick Witossek. Their first album, 'Decline,' came out the following year.
Their songs like 'Give'm a Hand' and 'Raze Lazarus (You Know Who's The Theif)' mixed metalcore with melodic hard rock. The lyrics often dealt with social and political themes, which drew some attention at the time.
