I M U R formed in the late 2000s as a collaboration between vocalist Mia Dimarco and multi-instrumentalist Robin Anthony. Their debut album 'Elysium' came out in 2009, but it was their 2014 follow-up 'Breathless' that brought them wider attention. The title track from that album became their most recognizable song.
The band's lineup eventually included Samuel Lewis on bass and Elijah Walker on drums. They've released several albums since 'Breathless,' including 'Somnia' in 2017, 'Nocturne' in 2020, and 'Reverie' in 2023.
In 2016, Anthony faced sexual misconduct allegations from a former bandmate, which he denied. Some critics have described their music as relying heavily on atmospheric soundscapes, though their fans appreciate that quality.
