I Will Define formed in Rhode Island in 2009 with vocalist Cammie Gilbert, guitarist Anthony Stice, bassist Matt Maggio, and drummer Joe-Joe D'Agaro. They released a self-titled debut album in 2011. The band's songs like "Animosity" and "Disdain" came out in the years that followed, working in a heavy, melodic style.
Bassist Matt Maggio left in 2019, and Dan Rosemont joined. The group has continued with Gilbert, Stice, D'Agaro, and Rosemont. Their lyrics have touched on themes like depression and social injustice, which connected with some listeners in the metal scene.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
