I WiSH was a Japanese pop-rock band active in the early 2000s. Their song "Asu E No Tobira" became particularly well-known, serving as an anthem of sorts for its time. They released albums like "Wish" in 2004 and "Expedition" the following year.
The band featured vocalist Maiko Iuchi, guitarists Yoshihiko Sugiyama and Isao Sakuma, and drummer Yasuo Sano. Sakuma left in 2005, after which Sugiyama handled lead guitar duties. They put out more records, including "Desire" in 2007 and "Wings of Desire" in 2008.
Other songs in their catalog include "15 No Natsu," "Best friend," and "December." They received a Japanese Gold Disc Award for Best New Artist in 2005. The group released a 10th anniversary album in 2015.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
