Iago Reizs formed in São Paulo in 2005, with Iago Reizs on vocals, Rodrigo Tavares on guitar, Raffael Terra on bass, and Ricardo Pacheco on drums. They played small venues and local festivals early on, working through the usual financial constraints that come with starting a band.
Their debut album 'Alta Tensão Final' came out in 2008, and the title track got some radio play in Brazil. The band's sound pulls from hard rock and progressive metal, with songs like 'Escurecer' and 'Queima' showing that mix. They've put out several albums since, including 'Reino dos Cegos' in 2012 and 'Sintonia' in 2018.
The lineup has shifted over time. By 2017, Fernando Ricco was on bass and Gustavo Ribeiro on drums, with Iago Reizs and Rodrigo Tavares still there. That same year, there was some talk about plagiarism allegations, but nothing came of it. They've kept playing shows around Brazil and Latin America since.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
