iamamiwhoami emerged in 2009 with a series of cryptic online videos that eventually became the EP 'Kin.' The project centered on Jonna Lee's vocals and Claes Björklund's production, with Jonas Åkerlund contributing to the visual elements. Their music, like the songs 'Dive' and 'Fountain,' often carried an atmospheric, electronic quality that felt both intimate and deliberately obscure.

They released the full-length album 'bounty' in 2010, followed by the EP 'chasing ghosts' in 2012. The 2014 album 'blue blue' received particular attention for its cohesive sound. Later work included the 2017 EP 'A SENSE OF AIR,' which featured collaborations with artists such as Kelela and Flying Lotus.
