Iane formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1969 with Roberto Ribeiro on vocals, Luiz Antonio on guitar, Paulo César Barros on bass, and Wilson de Oliveira on drums. They started as four friends making music together, drawing from samba, bossa nova, and Brazilian funk rhythms.
Their song 'Amigo Mais Chegado' came out in 1970 and became a hit in Brazil. The track's lyrics about friendship connected with listeners, making it something of an anthem for companionship during that period.
Iane released albums like 'Iane' in 1970, 'Deixa Cair' in 1972, and 'O Som da Gente' in 1975. Other songs in their catalog include 'Eu Viajo Aos Céus' and 'Presença de Deus'.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
