Archive material and source history
Icatchfire formed in 1999 with Jeff Elkins on vocals and guitar, Paul Evans on drums, and Joel Kiser on bass. Their first album, "I.C.U.," came out the following year. They've put out records like "In the Shadow of the Cross" in 2004, "Reclamation" in 2009, and "All the Days of My Life" in 2015.
Their song "Friends" became something of an anthem in Christian music circles. In 2012, the band was in a car accident that left Elkins with a traumatic brain injury, which led to a break from touring and recording. They've also faced criticism for their position on performing at events supporting same-sex marriage.
After the accident, they eventually returned to making music and playing shows.
