A Norwegian pair who built sparse, atmospheric songs about isolation over four albums.
For a quick sense of their mood, try 'Trapped And Scared' or 'Endless Circle.' They're both pretty representative of that sparse, atmospheric thing they did.
They worked in a darkwave style that favored minimal arrangements and introspective lyrics. Songs like 'Trapped And Scared' give a sense of their sound, sparse and atmospheric tracks built around Sindre Skeie's vocals and Trond Mjåland's layered instrumentation. The music often dealt with themes of isolation and melancholy, which earned them a dedicated following in certain circles.
Ice Ages formed in Oslo in 2008. Their debut album 'A Dream As Real As Darkness' came out in 2010, followed by three more records over the next decade. Their last album, 'Echoes from the Abyss,' arrived in 2019.
