Ideafix formed in Porto Alegre in 1987. Their debut album 'Som de Guerra' came out a few years later, and by 1992 they had released 'Nada Mais,' which became their most recognizable song. The band's lineup has stayed fairly consistent, with Ricardo Negrão on vocals, Cadu Martins on guitar, Fernando Gross on bass, and Marco Antônio on drums.
Their music sometimes drew criticism for its social commentary. In 1994, their album 'Guacamole' was censored by Brazilian authorities, which sparked some public debate. They kept recording through the late '90s and 2000s, putting out albums like 'Mundo Estranho' in 1997 and '13' in 2003. Another track, 'Não Se Esqueça,' also appears among their better-known work.
Later albums like 'Aqui Agora' from 2011 showed a shift toward more reflective material. The band's sound evolved from the straightforward rock of their early records, but they never really left that foundation behind.
