Ignez Mazoni

Ignez Mazoni formed in Rio de Janeiro in the early 2000s, with Igor Caracas as the singer and songwriter. Their first album, "A Vida Que Eu Queria," came out in 2003. They followed it with records like "A Estrela Que Radiava," "Entre Suas Coisas," and "Lux." The band's lineup has stayed mostly the same, with Caracas joined by guitarist Lucas Vasconcellos, bassist Filipe Cartaxo, and drummer Adriano Cintra.

Their lyrics sometimes got them into trouble, with critics accusing them of political stances that led to canceled shows. They kept writing songs anyway, including "Maçãzinha," which became their best-known track. The band's sound mixed folk and rock, with some jazz and electronic touches in later work.
