Iguana Tango formed in Los Angeles during the 1990s, with Charlie Bordon on vocals and guitar. Their debut album "Hoy He Escrito Una Canción" came out in 1993, and the title track became something of an early signature for them. They followed it with records like "El Barrio" in 1994 and "Ensayo" in 1997.
The band's lineup included Gerardo Mejia on guitar, David Morales on bass, and Jose Manuel Aguilera on drums. They toured fairly extensively in the Americas and Europe through the late '90s. Songs like "Sabor de amor" and "Adiós papá" show their mix of rock energy with Latin rhythms.
They released a few more albums into the early 2000s, including "Noventa Centavos" in 1999 and "Almas Perdidas" in 2002. There was some legal trouble around 2001 concerning a sample in a song called "La Quema," but that track still found its audience. The catalog ends with a compilation called "La Historia" in 2003.
