The electronic duo behind the early 2000s club staple 'Rapture' and three more albums of trance-pop.
If you're going to listen to one Iio song, it's still 'Rapture.' For something a little different from their catalog, try 'Tantric' or 'Kiss You.'
For a certain kind of electronic music fan, Iio's sound is immediately recognizable, that combination of Emilia Rydberg's airy vocals over Marcus Erikkson's pulsing beats. It's the sound of 'Rapture,' a track that became a club staple in 2001 and still gets played in sets today. Their other songs, like 'Is It Love?' and 'At The End,' maintained that same blend of trance and house elements with pop accessibility.
The Swedish duo formed in the late 1990s and released their debut album 'Poetica' in 2001. They put out three more albums over the next decade and a half, 'Habitude' in 2006, 'Exit 23' in 2011, and 'Signal' in 2015, while dealing with health issues and legal disputes that interrupted their momentum.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
