IKA formed in 2015 when Ikaika Kahoano, Kaleo Quiocho, and Mike Hanulike started playing together. Their name comes from the Hawaiian word for octopus. Two years later, they put out their first single 'Beach,' which caught on with listeners and became something of a summer song.
They followed that with a debut album called 'Island Nights,' which mixed some Hawaiian music touches with indie rock. Other releases like 'Lost and Found' and 'Reverie' came later. You can hear their sound on tracks like 'Don't Give Up' and 'Fly Away' from their catalog.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
