Iku formed in 2006 with vocalist Isshiki, guitarist Takeshi, bassist Hina, and drummer Kei. Their debut EP 'Innocence' came out in 2008. The band's early sound had a melodic rock quality that found listeners in Japan's visual kei scene.

Isshiki left the band in 2010, and Takeshi took over lead vocals. They kept recording, putting out albums like 'Paradox' in 2010 and 'Quaternity' in 2012. Some of their songs, like 'Rimless ~Fuchinashi no Sekai~' and 'Chikaigoto ~Sukoshi Dake Mou Ichido~', became known for their atmospheric arrangements.

Iku's lineup eventually included Shin on guitar alongside Takeshi, Hina, and Kei. They've released several albums since, including 'Aethra' in 2015, 'Lux' in 2018, and 'Enigma' in 2021.
